The polyester rope and smooth paint are durable enough for snow covered boots or wet spring shoes. Take the beginning end of your wrapped and sewn rope and make a small clockwise coil. You can change the colors and make the rug perfect for any room so whether you are decorating a child s bedroom a living room or even your own room just pick your color and create a stunning rug that is certain to be a conversation starter. Once you coil a complete circle use a medium to long stitch length and the widest zigzag setting to sew between the ropes and join them together.

Starting with one end of the rope roll it around itself a couple of times. I also used an old fitted sheet for the bottom of the rug but you can use any type of fabric sheet or rubber backing to make it non slip. Keep turning the coil and joining new rope to the coil until you reach the end of your sewn and wrapped rope. So easy to make and a great way to add some rustic touch to your entryway.

For the rope i used 2 rolls of sisal rope that i picked up at the hardware store. This craft project comes from everyday art and is an adorable way to spruce up a bedroom. Everything was a mess and there were still. I d been looking for a natural creamy coloured rug but couldn t find one i liked.
